Judi- I will certain honnor the rules here and not post any more links. Sorry, I didn't think I was breaking any rules.

I would happily post all my pictures here if it didn't take so long to upload. I have timed it, it takes two minutes a picture for me. That makes it impossible to show off my many pictures I take each day during bloom season.

Rita, you were not breaking any rules.... Dave just changed this a week ago.... in fact, I just noticed his message a couple days ago. Your thread was just brought to my attention today.

Hmmm.... If it takes that long for you to upload photos, go ahead and use the links. I don't want people to miss out on your photos.

Wonder why it takes so long to upload. Does it take that long to upload to the site you have your photos hosted?

I went back a page to see where you have your photos and see they are at GardenWeb. How long does it take to upload them there?

Everything at Gardenweb is the copy and paste into the body of the message method that I was using here that got all my pictures wiped out when the immage links were disabled. Only on Gardenweb you use the HTML code instead of the image script code on the bottom of your pictures in photobucket.

So I take pictures and upload them to my computer. Then I name the ones I want and download them to photobucket. The choosing of which pictures to use takes me a while but the upload to photobucket is literally a minute or two for 60 pictures or more. Then just make a post using the copy and paste the codes and all the pictures show up. It sounds more complicated than it is.

Here I have to use the upload button and so choose an image directly from the computer. The ones there on the hard drive are not resized as my pictures resize as they are being uploaded into photobucket (one of the options of how to do it). I am sure the lack of resizing is part of the reason it takes so long.

I even tried changing the image resolution in the camera to make it less and see if it made it any faster. No dice so I changed it back in the camera to the way it was.

It baffles me that people have the time to post many pictures here. It just takes too long. It is a nice site otherwise and a very friendly bunch of people.

Well, I understand. Just go ahead as you were and link to your GardenWeb pages.

I wrote to Trish, and she says Dave is busy and we should look for some big changes here soon. So, I **assume** the recent change in how images are handled is part of that. Dave has always been for making things simple and easy... So let's stay tuned and see what he has upcoming.

I take really big photos with a Canon digital SLR, and I don't resize them most of the time before I post. I have Time Warner cable internet, using wireless from the modem to my Mac. Not terribly fast...it takes a few seconds to upload. I remember when I had dial up, and people would send me images in my email... It would take an hour just to download one message. So frustrating. So, I do understand how it can be to sit and wait and wait.

It is puzzling that it takes so little time to upload to photo bucket, but so long to upload here. Cubits downsizes on the upload too.

Please don't stop posting! What ever you do! Go with the links, it's better than nothing. We'll see Dave has in store for us.

Ok?

Nice photos Rita. I always resize my photos before uploading here and the upload is instant. I also use photobucket to store pictures but upload all photos from my computer without any problem. The program I use to resize is also instant, It came with Windows 7 and does most anything you want to do with a photo.

Judi- Thanks. I will post my links for today. I know they don't want broken links but I did want to say that my pictures in photobucket stay forever. The link to Gardenweb would work until the posts dropped off the board on page 67 which takes a very long time. My last years posts are still there.

Fred- I fear you are correct and I need to resize the photos that I actually store on my computer in order to resolve this problem. I don't know how to do that. I have windows XP but I have two Kodak Cameras. So I have the Kodak software installed and that is were my pictures show up (in albums by date) before I save them to the hard drive. I did look all over in that program and see no way to resize them as they save to the hard drive. Maybe I just can't figgure it out.

Rita, once again the most SPECTACULAR flowers and garden shots! And I love how you've named little gardens here and there. I've followed up your idea with a couple of names for some of my areas: "Daylily Hill," and "Boomerang Bed" for a bed of irises.

I really love Barney and Lunar Empire -- and I bet it'll just be my luck that they're Dormants... about to look them up! Happy 4th to you!

Betty- Thanks. And I have lots of little garden areas named but not all of my beds are named (mostly because no obvious idea came to me). My rose beds have names to like Florabundaville and the iris out front are called Iris Corner.

Christine- No, no extra grass here. The little area of grass you might mean around the little tree garden. I have my very small veggie garden there off to the side were its not in the picture. I had to make that last spring as I took over my real veggie garden area (big too) for new daylily and TB iris beds last spring. This spring I intended to make the mini veggie garden for my tomatoes and cucumbers bigger but didn't get to it. Will do so next spring and there goes that last bit of grass Sad

Ha, thanks. I do love my daylilies and sometimes I get it into my head that a daylily is ugly and I get rid of it. So I don't think I have any uglies left LOL!

Today I was amusing myself moving four daylilies. One of my very extra earlies from Olallie Daylily garden is such a nothing small plain yellow that I had decided it should be gone. Then had decided to move one from another area into its spot to see if the one that moved would do better in the new place and rebloom. Moved two others over slightly.

I have two others that need switcheroos with each other so makes four to move but they are blooming so I will wait on that.
