I do love to have them here, knowing they won't disappear after a period of time, but I agree that it's a quick fix to just post the link. And I do love your garden shots! So you still have lots of bloom to go, eh? Love it!

Here are my links for my pictures today. I am too poofed to do anything more than that I was out and sprayed all my daylilies for thrips. And I sprayed not only the buds but made sure I got it really dripping into the folliage too. Second spraying as I sprayed two weeks ago but much more lightly basicly just trying to get the buds.

Last year the Thrips were really bad so I sprayed twice but only started after I realised I had all these messed up blooms. This year I wasn't going to have that if I could help it and sprayed just before things started opening. That really worked as I don't have all the splotchness I had last year. Still had some and the treatment is supposed to be repeated in two weeks so that is what I did. This should take care of it.

Really most of my daylilies are always fine and not bothered by thrips. But I decided I didn't need any of the usual thrip damage this year at all.

I don''t move my pictures in photobucket or deleate them which is what makes for broken links so my picture posts stay in gardenweb until they get so old they fall off the last page at the end. But that takes a long time.

Betty, I have two major beds blooming well, the plateau and the snapdragon garden daylily bed. The Slope is doing next best. That and the driveway side should be in full bloom by another week or so.

I also have lots of late and very late bloomer sections that do really extend my daylily season for me. I used to be out of bloom by early August. That no longer happens because of all the late bloomers here now.

Stephanie, thanks. And I am glad that the links are not a pain. But the blooms are actually better this year. More instense color. Last year we had that awful excessive record breaking heat wave and all the daylilies bloomed very pale.

That explains why they are so intense. They have such intense color and it will be a year to remember.

Well, that explains why all mine looked so washed out and tired compared to yours -- they're too hot! And so am I! It cooled down for the last two days but was humid, and I don't know which is worse. They announced on the news last night that for this "water year" Bakersfield got 10.33" of rain -- and our average is more like 5.5"! So this was probably the wettest year we've had in at least a decade. And I'll bet that seems pretty pathetic next to your annual average...

I can hardly wait to see more of your Westbournes, so please keep 'em coming. I really love Westbourne Whipperwill Call!

We have had a long wet spring. And although we get a hot one day here or there it goes back to cool with low humity. Usually its morre humid and hot than it has been this year.

I usually fertilize with Plant Tone and dried manure in the spring. This year I used Flower Tone on all the daylilies but its made by the same company. Honestly don't know if the change in fertilizer had any effect but it might have. I intend to use the Flower Tone again next year so we will see.

I was looking back at pictures from last year and they are much paler than this year for sure. The daylilies are so vibrant this year they just seem to jump right out from the pictures. And they really are true to color on my moniter.

I tried changing the settings on my camera to a lower resolution thinking it might make the pictures upload here faster. So I tried the one now and no dice. It still took the same amount of time. Bummer. I might change it back.

Those daylilies are really breathtaking, Rita! I love Mom's Pink Divinity -- fantastic color! My Miss Piggy had its first FFO today, and with our heat it's a pastel pink -- a really pretty pastel pink, mind you -- but not the hot pink I was expecting. It's probably just our climate, and maybe next year it will open earlier so I can get more color. I got everything in the ground soooooo late this year -- and I still have a whole bunch in pots that I think I'm going to have to carry over until the fall for planting. Oh well, I work at a snail's pace these days compared to you. You seem like a total bundle of energy!

Betty, I am glad you like them. I did have some really nice ones open today. Truthfully, I love Mom's Pink Divinity myself although it is not my usual form flower. But it's a stunner.

I don't work as much this year and seem to have slowed down. No matter as the big work of all the creating of gardens is done and it is just fine tuning now.

Wow! Such beauties -- the color is breathtaking! I still really love that Westbourne Butterfly Season, Clown Parade, and one of the more subtle ones, Beautiful Edgings. But I love them all! I have Marilyn Lee Bock, but of course Marilyn decided to sit this one out -- drat! I guess next time I should think about spraying for thrips. What product do you use for your spraying?

Betty, I sprayed with Bonide 941 Systemic Insect Killer two weeks apart. This should do it as last year I only sprayed twice and the thrips were lots worse than this year.

Rita.... I am putting a link here to a thread started by Trish about a recent change Dave made to the site. They would really like for people to use the "upload an image" rather than using links to images.

They are encouraging cubit owners and admins to ask people to upload images to the site, rather than use links.

So, I am asking if you would mind following their request, and start using the upload feature here, instead of using links? Uploading is so easy to do here... and it avoids people needing to click back and forth between windows, and also in the future of having broken links.

If you would go to this link, you can read what Trish says.

Thanks very much!
