For the last couple of days I've had problems previewing and posting. I can read posts just fine, but nine times out of ten I get a message that says "the connection was reset while the page was loading" when I try to reply...

Is anyone else experiencing this? Or is it just on my end? All of my systems checks appear to be fine... Confused

I haven't had any other reports from anyone else so my thinking would be that it is an issue with your ISP.

Thanks to you both. Smiling

I'll do some further checking here and see if I can find out what's going on.

It's probably your internet connection. I have the same problem here every day which is why I don't attempt to chat live with anyone.

Me, either. Plus, I neither think nor type quickly enough! Hilarious!

It's a sporadic thing, so I don't think it's yard interference. Maybe they're putting up another tower in my area. Shrug! I dunno. It'd frustrating though, because I'll have posts ready to send in several different windows before I hit that *magic moment* and can send them through...way too much thinking and planning for me. Chelle, have you tried rebooting your internet modem or your wireless router (if using one)? I've had similar problems with other sites when my wireless router or modem got out of sync. Sometimes they would connect properly, sometimes not. I just unplugged and re-plugged the power cord of the router/modem and it would sort its self out. Not an expert of any kind here, but just throwing out ideas.

Of course, as mentioned, it could also be your ISP.... In my experience, ATT's DSL has become really flaky and they are often the cause of the problem for me.

I got into the habit in OTHER websites of typing and editing any long post offline, in some editor that lets me blow up the text. Then, when I'm ready to post, I copy-paste it and click "Finished".

In THIS website, I even trust the "Preview" button to work without kicking me offline!

Chelle, there may be another problem with your ISP or computer. When I come to this thread, I get a message from my Xfinity EasySolve troubleshooting software that says "You are not connected to the Internet." It's a false message because I am still connected, but I'm not getting that message on any other thread.

Hmmm...I have this happen in many threads/areas. Sometimes the page shows strangely, too; not pretty like it usually is, but info is broken into plain boxes and areas down the left side of my screen. Usually when this happens if I restart I find that there's a new update waiting to be implemented, but that didn't seem to be the case this time.

Just an update and a big thank you to all who chimed in here. I tip my hat to you.

No problems with anything today, so it must have been my ISP having difficulties somewhere down the line.

Good that things have cleared up for you now Chelle. Sometimes it is that old ISP going whacky.
Yesterday morning my cell (we are completely wireless -- no land line phone) would not make calls. It dropped the call after 4 seconds. It was a trick figuring out if it was my cell or the provider. Ended up being the provider.
