I don't show many seedlings, since I haven't bloomed any new ones in 8 years....

This is one I have held onto because I like the flower. The plant is ok, but the scape and bud count is not. It won't leave my place because of that. But, I do like the flower!

First seedling I bloomed that had the "relief" sculpting that I love so much. Of course, since this one is ten years old now, things like Keys to the Kingdom have shown it up in spades.... but for its time this seedling was pretty good.... except for bud count of 10 and two branches.... LOL

I hope this photo is not to large - I am going to let the cubit software size it down instead of sizing it in photoshop first.

Took this photo last night about 7 p.m. We had a heck of a thunderstorm and rain yesterday about noon, and temps in the low 90's so it held up pretty well!

Thanks... but it is the perfect case of a pretty face on a plant that should not be introduced. It would be a bridge plant if I could still hybridize. In 10 years, I think it has increased to all of 6 or 7 fans. Whoopee. Two way branching and maybe a bud count of 10 after the bad habit of early bud drop gets to it. But when it blooms, it is pretty! The foliage is nice - doesn't streak or have other faults. I'd have to cross it to some fantastic branching high bud count wonder to get anywhere with it! Whistling

Nice bloom Juli, to bad about the scape problems. I have had more of this type than I like to admit.

Juli, I see why you saved it despite it's scape issue. It is lovely!

This is a 9 month and the best scape I have seen on the babies this year, not crazy about the bloom. Its from a long cross seedling and Best Edge.Thumb of 2011-07-16/spunky1/b2a9cd

Fred it is a beauty. I love that side shot as shows it is nice and flat and wide open and LOADED with buds. Beautiful color with a great throat, edge and the watercolor is very pretty.

Thank's all, I will look at it another year at least. I'm not doing any more purples because of the sun and heat damage here, just can't get one that will hold up. This is the last one I will line out to look at next year (ZAHADOOM X BLUE LAKE) 5X25 4 branchs two year old.

Love the color on this one, Fred -- and I know what you mean about the sun and heat damage! So do you think this one holds up a bit to the elements? It's a beauty! And is that a bit of sculpting I see?

You have some wonderful ones FRed. I especially like the color on the last purple one. I will be interested in seeing what you come up with with your Scandinavia crosses. I like tall ones, especially tall spiders. I'm not doing any hybridizing at present, but have a few seedlings around that I'm still evaluating. Most likely they will only be enjoyed in my own garden.

The purple one is a two year old under shade cloth, will put it in the sun in Sept and see what happens next summer. Did not even set a seed pod on it because I had made up my mind not to mess with purples anymore.
