When I try to brows by parent-plant ("Plant Database" / "Visit our custom databases:") the answer on any choice is

"We have 0 images of 0 plants listed."

That seems to have happened to every custom database, Peter. You're right. Dave has been alerted to the problem, and he will fix it when he sees the alert.

This is a new small bug with huge consequences related to the fix I made on the other parent plant naming issue. I know what caused it and I am fixing it right now.

I have a question on this. Using the Search by characteristics, when I search for the hybridizer using first and last name it works for all of the hybridizers except one. Kevin Vaughn will only come up if you use only his first name, or last name, but not both. It gives this message.
No results found. Your query may have been too specific. Try removing some of the options and try again.

I think I figured out why.
He is listed as Kevin C Vaughn. If you don't put the C in it won't bring him up. Is there a way for the system to recognize the search without putting the 'C' in the name?

It's a long term possibility but not without some restructuring of how that data is stored internally.

Would it be reasonable to change all of the entries that say "Kevin C Vaughn" to simply "Kevin Vaughn"? In other words, is his middle initial an important thing to be included in the entries?

I did that to a couple of them, to see if that was what the problem was. So yes, I can make that change.
The thing that concerns me is that a new comer will use the name that is found all over the internet as Kevin C. Vaughn, and will not be able to search for his plants in our database?

I prefer the correct "botanical" name of a breeder; so I would let it Kevin C. Vaughn;

but then you also have to change "Bill Nixon" to "Dr. C.W. Nixon".....

in my opinion it lasts if you can find the plants with the correct family-name of the breeder;

It would be great if the search would find it under both ways.
Many know Kevin as just Kevin Vaughn in the US. So if they search that way it does not come up with his plants. Except for the two that I changed to Kevin Vaughn. I don't want to change the name, so will go back and redo the two I played with, to Kevin C. Vaughn.
