Thanks, all! Unfortunately, we can't use manure with the kids in the garden. Trying to not turn them off gardening completely, and just the scent of the alfalfa when it first got wet was not well received by the kids.
I'm going to set up a scarecrow, owl and reflectors, and try a scent deterrent to discourage this one bunny. Hopefully he will go away and forget that there are delicious vegetable seedlings nearby. He does have to cross a VERY large field to get to the garden, so that should give the hawks a good chance at getting him as well. I really hope nature takes its course here.
There are still just a few pellets on the surface of the soil so I will get the kids to dig them all in really well next week.
