Yesterday I went to Lowes to look for plant tags. I decided to check out the sales rack and got some great deals, I got 2 Montauk daisies for $1 each, and 6 "African Irises" (Morea) for 3 dollars each, they had white and yellow.

I never did get the plant tags, I was told they won't have them again till spring, so I ordered them on line.

I try look at the sales rack each time I visit the nurseries in my area. I've gotten many perennials this way, at a good discount, and they may not look like healthy plants initially, but with a bit of love, I've been able to get them to thrive in my garden.

Good deals Annette! I think getting perennials this time of year is great. Like you said, they don't look like much now, but will bounce right back in the spring.

Fall can be a great time for planting things like shrubs and trees, too. When planting a whole garden for my daughter in Salt Lake City, we waited until the local nurseries were shutting down for the season around the end of October, and got up to 40% off some really nice trees and shrubs. The best deal, though, was on some wonderful apple trees that we found at Home Depot, again in late October. They had originally been $70 and were marked down to $13.99! My son bought three of them, and they all grew and prospered.

Those trees were a great deal Elaine.

I visited another local nursery yesterday, I found Meyer Lemon trees in. 3 gallon pots for $59.99. I was thrilled, I lost my tree grown in a lot earlier this year, and I love this plant for the scent of the blooms, and the lemons are delicious.

I got up to the counter, I'm a member of this nursery's "Play in the Dirt Club", and I had $50 dollars that had added up from the other purchases earlier this year, and I got the plant for <$15, taxes included. My plant is also full of lemons, so it was worth every penny.

I love these bargains at this time of year😁
