My new (this spring) Mukdenia 'Crimson Fans' did a disappearing act in mid-summer. Are they goners do you think, or do they just begin early dormancy if conditions are drier than they'd like?

Did you have it planted in sun? I don't think they like sun. It should come back though, I have been wanting one!

Mine start to fade in late summer as well. All done for the year. Mine have come back for 2 or 3 years but I'm zone 7. Keep an eye out for it this coming spring.

Thank you!

I have mine in bright all day shade, in an area that the soil retains moisture but drains well. Looking forward to spring already. Big Grin

I am looking forward to finding a good price on one. It might be too hot here and I do not want to pay 15.00 for something that might not live.

The ones I bought were half that price at The Crownsville Nursery, and theirs are some of the best mail order plants I've ever seen. Pictures here http://garden.org/reviews/view...
