My new (this spring) Mukdenia 'Crimson Fans' did a disappearing act in mid-summer. Are they goners do you think, or do they just begin early dormancy if conditions are drier than they'd like?

Mine start to fade in late summer as well. All done for the year. Mine have come back for 2 or 3 years but I'm zone 7. Keep an eye out for it this coming spring.
