I was actually just working in this area today and I improved the whole process of submitting an idea. One thing I have yet to do is make it easier to find out where to submit one! But I've got some ideas of ways to improve the feature and am starting to turn my attention over to it.

Ok, you can now find a link to submit a new idea right at the top, front and center, of the Ideas front page. Just click "Ideas" in the blue column and you'll see it.

@dave this has apparently been updated since conversion to NGA. Is there still a place to submit new ideas?
Thanks in advance.

I hate to sound lame...but where is this 'menubar on the left' located? I looked and don't see it. Thank You!

Sighing! I can't find this either. Can you please show a screenshot so I see where to find this stuff?

Also, I was used to this stuff being called 'articles and ideas'. Has that been changed also?

Sorry, I'm having trouble keeping up. *Blush*

This thread is more than 3 years old and the information in these old posts is no longer valid.

We're not currently accepting new Ideas submissions. The future of that part of the site is being reconsidered.

Not sure where you are going with this, but I sure think the members' 'ideas' were a positive attribute to this site. Curiously, why would you ditch it?

While many of them that are submitted come in with good sentence structure, no misspellings, and well written, many of them took a lot of work for us to fix up to make presentable for the homepage.

Trish would do a first pass on the ideas, and then zuzu came in and fixed them up even more. It was hours of work for everyone involved and I'm not sure it's worth it. For user generated articles and ideas I think I'm going to steer people to the blog feature of the site.

I like that idea, Dave. I find the blogs very interesting, and would love to see more of them.

I don't follow or use blogs so I'm out of that loop. I will miss the article feature, as I enjoyed reading more substantive ideas from folks I felt I knew. The ones 'left over' (for lack of a better term) from whatever web site this used to be are...OK...but are not on my radar. Oh well. Not my call.

Would it help if there was a group who volunteered to be 'first readers' to help clean up the articles before passing them along to be finalized by Trish and others?
