I am new to this site and am enjoying it very much. Just trying to familiarize myself with it's workings. In reading about adding Acorns to your portfolio, I was reading about adding photo's to Galleries was one way to do this. I am unclear as to what exactly is classified as a Gallery? Is it a particular forum?
If you could explain this, I would appreciate it very much.
Rick

Welcome! Welcome! Welcome! Rick!
My thinking on this is that when you pull up a plant on the Plant Database, there may already be several pictures from other members. This, I'm guessing, could be called a 'gallery' of that particular plant. Add your pictures right along with them, and get an Acorn

Hi, Rick.

Welcome to ATP.

One way to earn acorns here is to add information and pictures to our collective plant database. The link to it is top left on almost any page of ATP. To make an addition simply type the name of the plant in the search box on the main database page, make your selection from the choices given and follow the prompts. Feel free to experiment with it, nothing will be saved until you click on "submit". Once you've made a submission a moderator will review it. Once it's been reviewed and posted you'll be notified by an automatic system message. It's fun and easy to do, and your input will help others learn about plants of interest.

Galleries are photo sections of the DB; like bloom images, leaf images, seed images, etc.

All photos are welcome and are enjoyed by all here on ATP. There is the data base where you can add photos of just a single plant or you can do multi-plant photos

Welcome Rick...no one is a slower learner than I am and once you do it you will find it is easy. Select a plant picture, go to the data base and type in the plants name. If the plant is on the data base several pictures previously added may show up. Instructions will say "add a picture to the data base". When you do so and your picture comes up add the information and if you are satisfied submit it and it is done. It is addictive.

Rick...you can add several pictures of the same plant...if you add more then one pic of the bloom you get one acorn. However, if you add a pic of the leaves you get another acorn...pic of stem=another acorn...pic of seed pod=another acorn and so on down the list. So bottom line for the same plant you can earn more then just one acorn Smiling

And don't neglect adding data details to the database entries! If you access a plant you're familiar with in the Database and notice it's lacking in growing information, please add what you know about the plant! Every little bit helps! Smiling

Welcome to ATP, Rick. I see about 6 members relatively near you but farther south, including planetalker on Cowichan Bay, and pwinget and Tophertuttle in Victoria.
