My first love is garden designs - love to create new gardens! My second love is collecting and hybridizing daylilies. With over 800 cultivars, a dozen plus intros, and several cottage gardens, the one acre garden is chockablock full! My third love is sharing the gardens with other gardeners.

The gardens are open on Memorial Day Weekend and the last two weekends in July or by appt. Lots of unusual perennials and daylilies for sale at those times. No rust ever seen here.

What is that lovely spider you have pictured???

I have been to BB's garden - it is one of the most beautiful I have seen anywhere. She has such an eye for putting plants together. There was a treat for the eye everywhere I looked. We went on a trip around town, and WOW, does she do some nice design work!!!

Wish I lived closer so I could visit again!

The name suggests how I felt when I first saw this daylily!

Ned Roberts liked it and confirmed that it was out of SKINWALKER because the pic he saw really showed the white on the back which was a trait of SW.

Unfortunately SW is not hardy here. We tried twice for that and DESERT ICICLE.

However I do have more than one seedling out of SW, when crossed with dormants.

I do not mulch nor baby any of my daylilies.

TA-DAH has a sib being released this summer. AHA!

They are yin yangs

AHA being curly, more feminine with a greener throat.

BTW, can you share with us what that wonderful handcream was that you gave me?

It was probably Camille Beckman - can you believe it was about 10 years ago that I was there?
Anyway, I either use CB, or Burt's Bees - and I don't think I was using Burt's then.
CB comes in the most wonderful fragrances. I love Gardenia, and Oriental Spice. My Mom uses Camille, which is rose scented. I get it in the big 32 oz. refill size, and use it as an all over body cream.

Thanks bb, that is a lovely one. Skinwalker didn't make it the first winter I had it here so I decided to try it again. So far now I have had it for 2 years. The key I was told is to put bricks around it so that it won't heave. I tried that and it has worked for me.

I am so happy to have Bobbie join us! She will be a big asset to our group! I was able to visit Bobbie when my company happened to send me to Boston for training duing peak Daylily season! Lucky me! I will always remember sitting in her lovely garden eating fresh lobster for lunch!

I am in zone 5b and I lost Skinwalker the first winter I had it. I had a suggestion from someone to put bricks around it in the winter so that it wouldn't heave and the second Skinwalker I purchased made it through our winter and I now have a nice clump of it. I haven't been able to get Desert Icicle to grow here. Tried it twice and gave up on it.
