@Ridesredmule could you possibly post a photo of the lower leaves? Many people only look at the top of the plant and get confused by the upper leaves being similar on the two types - thanks.

Yes, that's awesome! Trying to get great pics of hummers is a fav past-time of mine too. Next spring, any $ spent on yard plants will go to nectar plants only. I know where I can get some Leonotis seeds, if I can remember in a few weeks. Had no idea hummers liked them until seeing this.

Yes, I've watched the hummingbirds going to nectar on the flowers of that species. Since it gets tall, the hummingbirds don't even have to fly down low like they do with many of the nectar plants.

It can be quite tall and vertical. Sometimes I cut some back a bit before getting too tall to encourage branching.

I couldn't believe how tall they got. You need a pair of gloves to pull them up too.
They are very rough on your hands..

@gingin send me a T-mail with your address and I'll see that you get some seeds in honor of your dogs. I just harvested a ton from a local organic farm property (with permission).

Great looking pooches Gingin!

Heres some pictures I just took of my Leonitus. They start small and the blooms get more developed in time this time of year;... up and through the first freeze here.
