I love to see poly blooms. If you have good pics of polys I would love to see them! Anyone working with them?

This is the thread from the 2013 bloom season:

The thread "Polys of the 2013 Season" in Daylilies forum

There is at least one member here (LaLambchop) who works with them. You could also look at Bobby Baxter's website. He has some lovely blooms.

Gosh, Mike. You did have a lot. I really like that last seedling.

I found this one as I was labeling pictures tonight. This is a new one for us added this past spring. It is not registered as a poly.

Very pretty! Thanks, Mike for posting all those. Your Chief Four Fingers is awesome. I do grow that one. Is the one tagged Open Heart perhaps Open Hearth? It looks like mine?

Metro Blue has a huge eyezone or is it called another name?

I thought that too Teresa. Think it is Open Hearth because that one does seem to give some polys every summer.

Funny, out of all my dls, my oldest first pick was Open Hearth. So now it is growing in MA. I do like it too it is one older plant that will stay in the garden. I love it when it polys!

Was the ffo on that plant this past season and was the first of 2 polys it put out. The 2nd one was better formed (no tongue) but I did not snap a pic of it.

So polys are just rare and irregular occurrences? Are some cultivars polys all the time?
The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.

There are hybridizers out there that are breeding specifically for polys. Yes some cultivars give you a poly once or twice a season.

Most of the polys tend to be very inconsistent for me, even the high percentage ones. These are two that are registered poly and have been the best for producing poly blooms here.

and a high percentage poly seedling, I'm not working with or for poly's but have developed a liking for this one, almost every bloom is poly, it's tet and has a great plant.
