Not sure what you call the listing of names that appeared when you were typing a daylily name into the search box...is it gone or am I doing something different tonight? This was a really helpful, (it's a bummer when you can't remember how the hybridizer spelled the name *Blush* ), quick and handy feature.

It's the same thing but now instead of only searching the cultivar name, it also searches the other fields, as well, including the trade name, series names, species and so forth. I am hoping that it is an addition rather than a subtraction.

Sorry Dave, I am not good at explaining computer stuff! After this list of database choices is a search box

Search and Browse:

» Browse the full list of daylilies (or see recent additions)

» Search by characteristics (height, bloom color, etc)

» Access the generic Daylilies entry

Used to be when you started typing a daylily name in the search box there was a little computer curlyQ spinning and a drop down menu(?) would show with possible name choices to take you to that particular named daylily. The name choices would change as you typed each letter of the name in the search box leading you to the one you were looking for showing in the name choice menu. I've looked through all the daylily database search pages and can not find this feature anywhere Shrug! This made searching the database for a specific cultivar so quick and easy. I'm not sure how to explain better, I'll get used to the way it is now. Smiling

I understand what you're saying. The cultivar search had the auto-complete type feature where it would show you options as you were typing. But with the new search going through all the other fields in addition to just the cultivar field, the autocomplete feature wasn't feasible anymore.

Ahhh, auto-complete that makes sense...automatically completes what you are typing! Bummer, it was a cool feature and unique to ATP. I'll get used to the new way. Thanks Dave! I tip my hat to you.

Hurray! it's back! I was doing a search in the DL DB and it was autocompleting. For a minute I thought I was seeing things Blinking so I tried it again...and again. Thank you!

Yes, I mentioned that in a different thread and neglected to mention it here, too. I'm glad you noticed. Thumbs up
