Hi Peter, thank you, I bought the Dahlia on a flower market, it came without a name, I tried to find an ID but did not succeed.
So I'm afraid it has to stay nameless, and yes it is a very pretty one, I only like single Dahlias.

I noticed the singles in your garden, I too prefer singles, and put in a dark foliage single bed this year. I grow from seed choosing the plants that appeal. I have put a few pictures up on a comment on atp about having a dahlia forum and have attached a couple below.

wow peter, they are so beautiful, all of them! I like the first and the last one the best, the first being truly unique! You get such interesting results from seed!
Unfortunately I only have a small town garden, mainly shady and only a balcony for plants that require more sun like Dahlias and wouldn't have space for experiments with seed, though I have grown a few of species Dahlias some years ago.

Hi Peter, I found the ID of this Dahlia while looking at a seed site. They call it Dahlia variabilis Bishop's Children'.

I thought Bishop's Children all had the bronze foliage. Someone please clarify.

Angie, I saw two photos of Dahlia 'Bishop's Children' from Vitrsna in the database that appear not having the dark foliage, one of them seems to be grown from seed from that cultivar.
Maybe @vitrsna can help you with this..
