Duuuuh!!

I was outside blowing more leaves. It was 70º. Then it came. It's now 56º. I can't feel my ears.

It's 43­° here in Houston proper now. We aren't supposed to freeze until early next week. You all be careful up there where the snow and ice is coming!!!

Look at the wind chill! No wonder it's so cold outside!!! We are north of the City of Houston, just a few blocks from Montgomery County. I watch the weather predictions for both counties because of that. Tomorrow it will not be much warmer,. In fact, it will be raining. And WE get to drive in it, getting DH in and out of the wheelchair. Oh boy! Wet AND cold! I am going to get drenched! I hate cold. Did I tell you I hate cold?? I hate cold.

Getting dressed for morning chores, 37 with a wind chill of 29. And it is drizzling off and on. Reminds me of Stephenville just a couple weeks ago. Hopefully the Carharts will stop the wind. Need to move the wind block to the north side of the goats loafing shed, and move newborn lambs up there. Yes a couple ewes didn't read the lambing wheel and lambed earlier than expected.
DH bought me a small greenhouse on Black Friday and I got it put together. He helped move it to the south wall of the house where it barely fit between the AC and the stairs. Yesterday I ran to Lowes and bought six concrete mixing tubs (love them) and after setting them in the gh put all my ghetto plants in. Wow, everything fit! Today I will grab a couple lights from the barn and hang them in there. He was tired of my homemade greenhouse made from livestock panels. Funny, this looks like a fancier version of mine. Oh well, he's happy, and I now have a second greenhouse. LOL

It's only 43 here with wind chill of 36; not so bad compare to those further north.
I don't mind the cold but the rain is keeping me from running errands and Christmas shopping.

I had just came back from Panama on Thursday a few hours before the freezing rain and sleet started. I finally ventured out yesterday to take some pics

Those are great pics, Anna! We're staying home this morning. It was in the 20s last night. Everything that was left out is frozen, but that's okay. Shopping online!

Panama sounds like a nice getaway!

Those are great pics of your winter wonderland, Anna! I've been working on taking out a yellowjacket wasp nest the last couple of days. I needed the cold weather to make that easier. After getting off all the wood on the top of it, I put all the organic type stuff on it I could think of on it to kill as many as possible. Then the next day I dug the actual nest up before the freeze last night. Today I dug deeper, because there were a bit more wasps in the ground. Now everything is exposed for the big freeze tonight. I'm doing this for my hummingbird...and for the butterflies. They were being harassed by the dratted wasps! I seldom kill many insects, but sometimes you have to defend the wild creatures who can't defend themsleves against yellowjackets! Last night was 26.2° here, tonight is supposed to go down even more. Keep warm, everyone!

Hi Anna, If ice and cold can be pretty you really captured it! I am allergic to ice and cold, myself. But I like looking at it in pictures and through a window.

At least it's a little warmer! Highs in the 50's and some nights we'll even get lows above the 30's this next week!

Back to "normal" ?

Weather guy said arctic cold front coming in next Friday. Supposed to be the coldest yet.

Oh, joy! ....NOT

I heard the same thing for the Houston area, too, Bubbles. Beginning Dec.22-28 th the highs will be in the 20°s and the lows in the teens! Yikes! I think I'm going to get my shovel out and dig up some of my favorite tropicals that are in the ground. However, the weatherman did say to wait 5 days more for a better, moor accurate prediction.

Ugh... Who invited winter, anyway??

Not me! Looks like I'll be on the road soon...or maybe flying. Urgent family gathering, not a happy one, but weather doesn't look that bad!

There are going to be a lot of "losers" in my garden. Neil Sperry reminded us we are really Zone 7

Urgent family gatherings usually aren't happy ones. I'm sorry, Linda. We'll be praying for safe travels and peaceful moments during your trip.
