DH got the rest of the leaves out of the pond today. Generally we shutdown when the water temps are in the mid 30's and that has always been between Thanksgiving and the first week in December. It seems like we were just starting up - where has the time gone?

I really need to get to all the leaves that have dropped into our ponds. But our leaves are only beginning to drop. I think I will have to do it twice if I did it now. Who wants to do that job two times??

Cheryl

I do agree - however, Hubs didn't want to put up the net this year. I think some of these projects are becoming more and more difficult for him as his health is not what it truly should be, so I agreed with him and checked my skimmer several times a day.

I was both surprised and grateful that he had gotten the remainder of the leaves out of the pond as I would have questioned previously whether he was physically able to do that previously.

I should be shutting down in the next several weeks - to me it is so quiet after the pumps have been brought in.

Well, Pirl and I have been talking and I decided to return to ATP. I didn't want to lose all my friends at DG so figured I would swing both ways until I was pretty sure that most of my friends were here also. Shrug!

What forums is Arlene frequenting? I didn't think she was on ATP. I haven't talked with Arlene in awhile.

I salted my pond today. Seems like the weather is colder than normal. I am hoping to get shut down next weekend. I have to believe my water temps will be in the 30's at that point. We are supposed to have some cold nights coming up this week,.

She posted some gorgeous pictures of her garden color arrangements. She sent me a url to see them. It is 32 here today. Up and down like a yo-yo. Pond is secure now with new piping arrangement. I brought the water depth back up to where it should have been before the ice overflow.

Where did she post them? I would love to see them.

We shut down this evening after I got out of work. What I noticed when I went back through my journals is that both the air and water temps were warmer in previous years at this time than they are this year.
