Constructing a Garden Tuteur

By Bubbles
November 28, 2015

Garden tuteurs, or obelisks, give your garden upright forms to train vines and other climbing plants. They also add interest to an area by lifting the eye upward. Tuteurs can be as plain, or as ornate, as you wish them to be. As simple as a few bamboo canes lashed together, or as elaborate as a tall metal structure fused into a rather fussy design, these pyramid shaped frames have been part of gardens for hundreds of years.

My teuteur is metal but these would be easy (and fun) to construct without needing a lot of tools and so forth. Like the idea of buying the sample jars of paint for small projects like this. Now why didn't I think of that??? Smiling
I garden for the pollinators.

The manager of the paint dept. is the one who gave me the idea. When I told him the colors I wanted, he shook his head and asked, " What are you going to do with all that paint?" I told him and he said I didn't need anywhere near that much paint. He pulled out the sample jars and said he was sure they would be "plenty!" And he was right.
