I bought some of these in the spring and I'm not sure what to do with them now. I live in a zone 5 or 6 depending on who's map your looking at and right now they are inside under lights. They have been putting out more growth since I brought them in but am wondering if they should have a dry rest period or keep them growing? I also have some rain lilies (zephyranthes) also in pots. I have a cool frost free area I was going to put them in, do they require any water at all during the winter?

I grow a bunch of both in large pots. At season's end I cease watering, put the pots in the garage (in Oct), allow the foliage to die back (and if not , cut it to the soil level in November, and then move all the pots into the basement (avg temp appx 60°) for the winter. Once translocated, they are stored dry throughout the winter. Come Aptil, or usually May, I either re-pot or move the pots outside again. I also do this w/ Gloriosas, Pineapple Lilies, Crinum, Aztec Lilies, and Elephant Ears.
Nothing that's been done can ever be changed.

Thanks! Into the garage they both go. My garage is heated to 50 which I hope is not too cool. The hymenocallis I'll repot in the spring but I think the zephyranthes are in a pot that'll be ok for another year or two. I'll have to move my crinum and Aztec lilies out there as well I think.

I think rain lilies like to be somewhat crowded.

I agree I have found that to be true.
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown
