Thanks Greg I'm so glad I found this place. I've been working on the Av's for some time they are very slow.I have fire sticks and more av's that haven't bloomed yet. I've been trying to figure out if the other one is an aloe or haworthia just not sure. I have some Sansevieria cuttings in the tank with more av's and ivy cuttings.
That beautiful pot was decorated by my niece when she was about 4 or 5 and I just love it it's so full and she did it with such ease. I live in Queens NY. Thanks for the warm welcome.
If you or anyone know anything about the sansevieria I have these rooted cuttings and it's going on 3 months and I just have no idea if I should leave them alone or do something else with them. This one is my current fav swayback told me it's an Optuntia

Is it the last pic on the first page? Does it ever bloom? How old is it? I'm starting to understand that cacti that have growth can be pretty old.

I will take a look in houseplants thanks!

Too cold these past few days, and this morning it is 27F.. my cold hardy Aeoniums are getting a beating: starting to see some cold burn at the tips and that white sheen on the leaves.

Angela,
Welcome and Sansevieria is my first love. Those cuttings looked like trifasciata Laurentii. Can't be too sure on just a hard picture to see. Sadly they will lose the yellow edge but will grow into a trifasciata. Keep on the dry side. They rot easily from too much moisture. Just a few sprinkles a week is more than enough. Beware, I have started with as much as you have, now I have over 10 different species and maybe 30 different trifasciata. It is worse than a drug addition. Not to speak of my eupohorbias, or cactus, or aloes, or Asclepiads, or agaves, or clivia, or ect. ect. ect. See what I mean. And I didn't even get into the tropical's or house plants. I live on the belief that I can own one of everything there is....Or die trying.

I live on the belief that I can own one of everything there is....Or die trying. OMG me too!!! I love them all. Right now I'm really into all the plants that require little water and attention they are so cool looking and the varieties seem endless.
My other plants are being very patient with me thank goodness they are so forgiving.

Thank you for the info I just checked on a batch of cuttings and they did indeed rot the ones I have in a tank have rooted I haven't watered them in along time . I had no idea their were so many species now I have to get them all Hilarious!

Hetty,
(do you have S. fancisii?) No but I though I did. Turned out to be Sansevieria Fischeri in a juvenile stage. They get very big, but in it's current stage looks like a minature sans 5 inchs tall. Currently there are over 100 species of Sansevieria and 100's more culivars. Some look like spider plants. Some like tall reed glass.

I though I would love to move to Florida but then the hot summer months and forget it. South Carolina seems the best. Like in a zone 7 or 8 area. Build a large green house next to the house. My dream, let me imagine it. Hilarious!

Moving farther south just means that some of your house plants are instantly reclassified as horrible weeds (asparagus fern, spider plant,) hardy yard plants (Gardenia, jasmine, Brugmansia, Cannas,) so you turn to 'more hardcore stuff' a dangerous & slippery slope & still a house crammed full of plants. The maddening thing is that you know some would be OK outside, just not sure which... I used to laugh incredulously when reading stuff on forums about covering plants with sheets until moving here, now I get it. It really can make a difference when winter only pops around intermittently during the actual season.

Today's new (color of) TC flower.

Callisia fragrans has been in the same pot for going on 3 years. I don't usually leave one alone that long.

Kalanchoe x houghtonii blooms finally opened.

Man, I keep occasionally driving by the giant Optunias with hundreds of purple flower buds but the flowers are never open. That's one cool thing to see down here. Sure wish I could be driving by when those things are open though.

I agree with Swayback about your plant in front of your hanging .... kinda. It looks a lot like Opuntia cochenillifera f. variegata, but they tend to be much smoother with only a few pads. Is that the one Swayback mentioned?

I was born and raised in New York and I as far back as I can remember have talked about getting out but really it's just the winter and the summer that are horrid. The spring and fall are just magical here I thought I would migrate yes like a bird but I'm pretty rooted here.
