I did buy a very large nylabone for Bo but I threw it away after he chewed into the ends. The package said the dog should chew from the sides, not top or bottom and it didn't say anywhere on the package that it was edible so I threw it away to be on the safe side. I googled and found that Nylabone makes both edible and inedible type bones so I'm going to have to look for the packages that say edible.

I'm going to check out Petmountain.com to see what I can find. Thanks for the heads up on the 14" jolly ball; sounds like something Bo would have a blast with!

His name is Spank. His nickname is "Da' Spaz". He spends his days patrolling the gardens!

I'm surprised this Variegated Tapioca even looks this good after 36 degrees the other night. They are usually going dormant by now and leaveless here!

David, I should have known your critters would be as beautiful as your gardens! Spank is gorgeous, as are your wonderful blooms.

I agree, it is a glorious day! Even though I try to stay out of the sun nowadays I'm heading out to sit and bask for a few minutes; I'm fighting an awful cold and hoping the sun will bake it away, LOL. Smiling

I have pics that I will hopefully get to post tomorrow. Constructed 3 raised beds today. Ran out of energy before I got to the filling stage. And had to get dinner ready. Tomorrow I'll be opening all the bags of good stuff i have.

@DavidofDeLand Love the pictures. Wish we were in DeLand. It is a very unglorious day here in AR. Expecting freezing rain tonight and maybe power outtages.
@plantladylin Hope your cold is better soon
@qwilter Looking forward to pictures of your beds -- hopefully, we will have power!
Any day you wake up on the sunny side of the grass is a good day.

So sorry Lin. I guess you got it on that run up to Tennessee. Group hug Group hug Group hug Take mega doses of Vit C my dear girl. It works!

Quilter Jean, I can't wait for pics. Hurray! You got a lot done!

Rocklady Jean, I know your weather is predicted for awful & awfuler. Stay home & stay safe.

David, awesome pics. Thumbs up

Lin, get elk antlers for Mr. Bo. They're clean so he can have fun with them in the house & not muss anything. Get a large enough size for him & they are safe.

The planter furthest back will get filled today & hopefully the spinach, kale, & some lettuce will get planted. The area underneath is rather weed/grass free. Turned the ground shovel deep, smoothed it all out. Neighbor had the box from a new washer out for trash so I used that as weed block at the bottom.
Time & materials permitting, I'll get the 2nd 1 done before dark. if not, i know what I'll be doing tmrw afternoon.

It looks wonderful Jean! That hibiscus is stunning!!! Lovey dubby A blooming Ti --- I never had one bloom. Very, very pretty. They get such nice colors this time of year & so washed out in the heat of summer. Are those birdbaths supplied with a pump & water? What do I see in the center of it?

Jean: Beautiful Hibiscus! You did a wonderful job of the raised beds and how lucky that the neighbor got a new washer so you could have the box ... the heavy cardboard as a weed block works much better than the black plastic weed barrier in my opinion. I used to have that same Ti Plant (Cordyline fruticosa) and it bloomed every year but I think it's one that froze during one of our exceptionally cold winters or else it was one of the plants I gave to neighbors when we moved.

Yes - a solar birdbath. Found it on line a few years back. Get a nice splash when the sun is shining & it is nice & shallow.

I moved that Ti in the Spring and I think it is very happy there. Not much sun so it stays brightly colored.

I saved all the boxes when we moved & have been using them for weedblock. The dryer box was very heavy and perfect size for the box. All that black stuff does is allow the weeds to grow underneath. Pull it up sometime & see waht you find. I only use it under gravel/stone so the stones don't work into the sand (and become lost forever).

We have some sleet on our decks this morning but fortunately no ice on the trees. Not going anywhere today. Got all of the essentials yesterday. Do wish we had a generator here. The one in Fl isn't helping here Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Hilarious!

The next ones I do, I plan to paint before I put them together. I was going to paint these but then just didn't have the time.

Now I'm heading out to throw dirt around and see how much I need to fill the bed.

Very nice raised beds. They look just like our school garden ones. Don't forget to overfill with soil to allow for settling. The Scouts filled ours so nicely to about an inch from the rims and within a month they had settled nearly 4in.
Lovely hib, and I must check my Ti plants for flowers! Home tomorrow to see what's blooming.
