Jelly can be made using Callicarpa Americana - American Beautyberry. It's all-American and easier than apple pie.

Great! I have an abundance of beautyberries and although I like them for the birds, now the birds will have to share with me! Beautiful color, too!

Thoroughly enjoyed reading your instructions, Greene! I wanted to make jelly this year with my beauty berry but didn't get to it in time.

I haven't made any jelly yet with my Beautyberries but I have made elderberry jelly. So good. I must try the BB jelly next year if the birds don't beat me to the berries. But it's okay if they do. Smiling

I never get enough of them to make any jelly, but glad someone is doing it! Good article! Someday I'm going to get another elderberry variety so I can have elderberry berries. I think mine needs another around here that isn't a clone of itself.

I can't wait to own my own bush. Your instructions are so step by step that I can even do it. I have your elderberry recipe and can't wait to try it.

Thanks so very much.
