Just in from the garden and things are looking good. So many new seedlings to judge plus I left the large group of 'Killer' seedlings from last year as there were so many pretty ones in that group.
One that I had marked with exceptionally wide leaves is looking great today. It's very dark. I find that many of the semps have muddy colors in the winter but this one is quite lovely.
Let's hope for another nice couple days. That time of year is usually GLORIOUS in Oregon. There should be lots of irises blooming by then too. I have a couple thousand of them....
Actually I so enjoyed this last year, just meeting you all was a thrill!
Kevin I don't know you that well so can't say for sure but you seemed to be "gleaming"during the first workshop and it was fun to be around your excitement!
OK, I can make the nursery tours on Friday. I will probably just meet you all at the first nursery since they are all on the east side of the freeway. I'll do the clinic and dinner on Saturday; will miss the Perennial Obsessions visit though. Weren't we going to do Dancing Oaks on Sunday? It isn't on the list...
There certainly will be more seedlings, about 800 that were rowed out last spring plus another 150 that were saved out of the last patch (mostly 'Killer' kids) plus the selected seedlings from the previous two. Lots of fun things.
There are ~200 little baby seedlings up in the 'Helen Payne' x 'Polly Bishop' cross that have germinated in the pot in my kitchen window. Those could be very interesting! Almost can't wait for '15 so I can see them in their true colors. There should be ~6K new seedlings if the germination in the pots is typical. Won't that be fun???
The chartreuse one with pink tips is still holding its color in the seedling bed. Am very anxious to see what its spring colors will be.
Just wanted you all to know that when it's a ho-hum day over here ( yes, I get them here in my house and life...)
I just go back to the first page of this Nursery itinerary thread and read all the posts that are there from all the people who might be going or who has anything to say about the Oregon get-together in May and then I get... { Excited!! }
Just keep going back to that post Bev, and get {Excited} all over again.
I'm with you, I can't wait to see all of us in one place. Hope Kevin can keep us in check.
