this is a new in new intro of mine for 2010. Medium sized blooms that are mostly triples. The blooms a heavy and waxy so they hold up well to heat and other inclement weather...heavy bloomer
Rosalie. This is a child of Rothkirch. The blooms are VERY similar to Rothkirch. For those of you who want to to work with rothkirch genes in hybridizing or just want tons of drop dead gorgeous blooms, that bloom straight out into your face, then Rosalie should be your choice...it doesn't get any better than this!
Betty, That double puts on such a show. She can literally be covered with blooms and all of the almost perfect. Most doubles can be plagued by deformities but these seem to be some of the nicest blooms. She has been thru 2 fort lauderdale summers and and came thru like a champ...the only other brug that did as well in the heat of the summer was Lemon Meringue.
Hay Garry, love the new Brugs. How has thing been going with you. I don't go to the Brug forums anymore, been getting more into Gingers these days. It would be nice to get back you way sometime and get together.
Hey Gary, It is nice to finally find you. I was wondering how the Harlot x NOL cross that I sent you a piece of did for you?
It seems to throw cream, yellow and orange blooms for me. What would you suggest to possibly cross it back to for the purpose of stabilizing the color ? It has such a nice shape to the bloom, I would like to work with it more.
Charley, Charleen, where are you? Just fertilized my brugs with the blue stuff. It's looking better than ever now that it's hot, hot, hot in MO. Going to take a road trip to Vintage Hill http://www.vintagehill.com/gre... to see if they have any tropical treasures on clearance.
Name: Charleen Alford, Florida (Zone 8a) Walk in Peace / I'm Timber's Mom.
Susan, we are here, I used to live in Mo. Where is Vintage Hill, I'll look. Let me know what you find. Yo will find plenty I'm sure. Charley says Pick him up a cookie , he always hungry. Have Fun Girl.
Charleen and the longear gang
Oh Charleen, I turned my back for 2 minutes and my DH ripped out my beautiful stand of grasso lavendar that took 3 years to get the hedge. (he didn't like them thought they looked weedy and not enough color). Wasn't offering any replacement cash. Go figure. Vintage Hill is in Franklin, MO...I added their link on my post above. He has a brugs that is about 8 foot tall and wide planted outside a greenhouse and has an employee move it in with a forklift every year. In these parts, it's something to behold.
