it is a rooted brug, keep it semi moist, not wet.. give it a little supper, I feed mine tomatoe food, lots of sunlight, the more you ignore it the more it will grow, you should see a green peek of some tips soon.. is the stem still firm? gently squeeze it to see.. if you can tug it gently and it won't give, the roots are still there... I have had completely shriveled sticks turn into this:

that guy up there was my first brug, he was a whole three inches tall and I thought it was dead.. I cut down the back yard tree and low and behold there it was, I had forgotten about it..
here was frosty in dec of 08 see how tiny and dead he looked?

Debra, what do you have your brugs in, and what is around them? Looks very interesting! Maybe some moss?

Well, they are surrounded by hibiscus, iochromas, lantanas, and other stuff. That is what Frosty looked like last fall. They are all scatteed differently this year. Both forstys ( I cut him back and rooted his top) are on the North fence now, full sun, soon to be surrounded by purple ballerina daturas, tall sages and salvias, penstamons, creeping daisyes, and other stuff. The other brugs are on the south fence area with more shade, and their bottoms are covered with all kinds of stuff. I mostly wanted to show how a shriveled stick can go ahead and go full blast.
Who ever gave me yard sale yellow, it looked all dead, it has three leaves and roots and is in a nother bigger pot now outside to breathe.

Yes, they do much better outside! If you keep it watered, it will be OK! They may wilt a little in the afternoon, but they will perk back up when the sun goes down. Just keep it moist at all times, but not soaking in water. They don't like sitting in water.

Just make sure you keep an eye on the weather. If it looks like your going to have frost, bring it back in for the night.

All my brugs are either in the ground with plastic mesh netting at their roots, or in large pots now. let the growing commence!

Oh I love love it! I just came in from checking on my new fishies, the top of the water was covered with elm tree seeds.. they must have been hungry, cuz they came up to me LOL so after I arranged ( again) the plants around it, cleaned off the floating tree seeds, I gave them some fish food flakes. I have no clue what I am doing, one is orange and one is tri-coloured, they are just goldfish LOL I am waiting for my lotus seeds to pop up. they have been kept warm and wet all winter, something has to happen. I upended a pot to see how one of my Y sticks was doing ( a cuba) from Faye, and it had roots and a new shoot . ( The top looked dead) I got a Cherub root from X in a trade, and it is buried under the outside edge of the old pear tree.. here it is..it is peeking!
