Ack is right, Vic. Sunshine and I are about to get bored and I can't interest her in a game of Rook, not even Checkers or Crazy 8s.

I had to laugh out loud when I saw the look on that Dog's face. Seems to be saying "Sheesh ... what is the big deal Mama?"

That's about what she was saying, for sure.

Oh she is a talker. Groans, grumbles, whines, probably says a few bad words, too but she also laughs a lot.
I love the trees in your avatar. Beautiful.

I tip my hat to you. Need to get a winter shot. Maybe tomorrow the temps are to go up to about 20. After weather of the last few days (one night of somewhere between 17-24 below zero), even 20 sounds warm. At least I have had heats and light. I am very thankful.

Look at all those doggie foot prints in the snow. She does look so content. A beautiful tree, love the conversation you are having with Sunshine. I hope she understands the red blanket is for the tree. Beautiful pictures of the trees with ice. I guess I didn't appreciate all that beauty when I lived with it.

Hi Pegi,
It's so good to hear from you. I'll bet you don't have a bit of ice on your trees.

She's a great dog, with a personality that matches her name, Sunshine. And lucky for both of us, she hasn't bothered the red blanket at all, not since we 'talked' about it. It might not last, but so far, so good.

The trees are beautiful for sure, but the snow is looking a bit tiresome right now! We need some warm!

Merry Christmas, Pegi!

Sharon, your trees, bushes and everything is just beautiful. And, your conversation with Sunshine is priceless. Is the red blanket still under the tree?

Take heart, your winter will be far shorter than mine. I might not see the ground until about the end of March. White can be very boring.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

The ice and snow is still mostly on the ground and the red blanket is still under the tree. She has not touched it and she hasn't touched anything on the tree, though it's right there well within her reach.

She is really a very good dog. I know I say that so often, but I was very very lucky to get her.

Stay warm, Mary.

Hi Sharon. Those are beautiful photos. We've had quite a bit of ice and snow in Northern Virginia over the last week. I enjoy it when I don't have to go anywhere and can stay warm and cozy inside. We had a few kids over for sledding on Tuesday when schools and Federal Govt were closed. They had a grand 'ol time.

I smile when I see pictures of Sunshine - I just love how she is a part of your life. There is a special little cocker spaniel living here now. He belongs to my BIL's girlfriend. Lowell is living with us, and Suzanne stays in DC during the work week and comes out on weekends. I am happy to have a dog in the house again, and he keeps me company in that way that only dogs can.

Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas to you, Teri! I a so glad you have a close furry friend again. Once gone, that kind of void is too big for us to deal with, so I'm glad you have a little visitor.

Our ice and snow is finally gone now and we are back in the 40 - 50 range which is much closer to normal for the week before Christmas. So glad Sunshine and I are no longer slipsliding around. On the other hand, there sure is a lot of mud on my kitchen floor!!

Enjoy this week and the love of the season.
