Hello everyone!

My name is Amy and I have been lurking on this site for quite some time now. I found this wonderful website earlier this year and have been slowly contributing some of my garden photos to the plant database. Now that it's winter here in Michigan I was reviewing some of my pictures from this year so that I can start planning for next season. Here are some of my favorites from this season. Enjoy!

How it all began:

I added a path and a little more space:

Things are getting bigger!:

Cherry Berry tomatoes are coming in:

A mound of morning glories on the fence:

The jungle toward the end of the season (late September):

Lastly, my favorite early autumn surprise, the pineapple sage bloomed:

It was a lot of fun, very rewarding, and I can't wait to get started again next season.

Thanks! It was very neat and tidy at the beginning of the season, but I just let mother nature do her thing toward the end. I plan on expanding a bit next year, adding two more raised beds, and moving my herbs to another location. The biggest thing I learned was how big some of those plants can get. I was surprised with the Pineapple sage, I did not expect it to turn into a rather large-ish shrub.

Fantastic looking garden space you got going on over there. And yeah, first few times growing some things can be a real eye opener in terms of coming to grips with the amount of space you may need.

Amy, what is the round black metal framework in the first photo? Is is something your repurposed or did it come like that?

Love your new garden. Great accomplishment! nodding

The black round thing is actually a firewood ring that wasn't in use during the summer. I laced some garden twine back and forth across it kind of like a spiderweb so that some of my snap peas could climb it.

And thank you everyone for the compliments. Smiling I can't wait for this growing season to start; this winter has been so harsh and I'm getting a bit of cabin fever.

Nice garden
I to am looking forward to spring.
Lived in Michigan near Detroit several years , miss the greenhouses . Michigan use to have so many great greenhouses to visit and get plants, a great winter escape.
Sad none here in central Indiana just snow and dreams of spring.
