Unfortunately I don't remember anything about fragrance for any of them. I have allergies bad and don't usually smell my flowers too much.

So, thanks to you lovely gardening gals, I planted my first Daylily today, a lovely little Little Grapette. I love everything about it already! It seems like such an appropriate affirmation to plant a new plant on New Years, huh? I'll keep you posted! Wishing all a safe evening & a glorious new year!

I agree

Not typically my preferred color palette but that is a gorgeous flower. Almost looks like a plumeria.

Wow, Mary! @fiwit when you put it like that! Even my husband likes me better when I play in the dirt - and you're right: of all the addictions & obsessions, passions & pursuits...even better than work!

Exotic Rings. Was a bonus plant and I loved the green, green throat before I even noticed the dusting.

So I appreciate your collective patience w this novice! These are mostly big plants & I feel guilty enough attempting to grow roses in containers! I'm gonna dig up the bigger ones & replant 'em in Los Angeles where we left "the kids" in our house - great big sunny hillside for them to spread.

Daylilies OK in Zone 9a/10?

I also bought a Stella de Oro as now that you've got me noticing, they're everywhere here! In every parking lot of every store: birds of paradise (or is it bird of paradises?) & Stellas! I bent down to smell flowers I'd never even noticed before - sure enough, a lovely little fragrance!

Only the little ones are gonna stay - buy now you've all introduced daylilies into two southern California gardens!
