Susie, Thanks for the acorns & thumb. I was a little hesitant to post this, but felt compelled to follow my heart.

Leon - I work with students as a teacher assistant in a public school, but I am the second teacher in the classroom. I work with very young children. Besides teaching the students about safety as well as a curriculum, we teach them to respect, care about, and love each other above all else. If they learn that early in life, then life will have true meaning for them.

I can totally relate to what you wrote ... and no I don't find it boring. I think they are true words of wisdom that many younger than us don't really appreciate or fully understand. Love above all else!
What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters, compared to what lies within us.

Thank you Becky. We now have grandchildren who visit us occasionally, and we try to instill the simple values in them that we were reared with. We are of course disappointed when they err, but we always try to address the errors with kindness and that four letter word l-o-v-e! I owe it all to my parents way back there in my early years when we were disciplined with a dose of correction. Sometimes special occasions involved a paddle from my dad depending on the offense. Profanity was strictly forbidden in our home. Even with the discipline I thank God for my wonderful parents. Merry Christmas! Smiling

Thank you so much! It is a cold, blustery day here so I am staying inside next to the fire place. It is gas fired, but I miss and long for our old wood burning stove from childhood. It was so comfortable to sit near a wood fire and read, which I did so many, many cold nights after the chores were done. I love Dolly & Kenny's Christmas music, as well as Loretta Lynn's Gospel hymns. I wish you a very Merry Christmas in the best of tradition!
