So glad you have that 6 y/o!

Della, if you speak as well as you write, and I suspect that you do, you're going to be just fine. You're knowledgeable, interesting and funny, too. I always enjoy your posts!

Take a deep breath, relax, and just imagine that you're chatting with your lily friends and tell 'em what you know. Thumbs up Group hug

I agree
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Mat.6:28-29

Thanks so much guys!

I just survived ...I got so tongue-tied!!! Then I realised I was talking too technical about lilies for a poor non-gardening reporter to follow! *Blush*

But I pushed the Lilia Weatherly Memorial trophy, kids, visiting judge Blinking

Anthony, your 'colourful' flare is much better for these things Big Grin

Fortunately it's the photograph that matters most. I'm glad too for my daughter - she happily posed with two Robina stems taller than her!!

If the reporter is smart, he (or she) will translate that into "Della is a very learned woman." Or "Della knows what she is talking about."

You are a witty woman, and I too, admire your posts for the way in which you present them, as much as the information you share.
I know you did great, Della.

Anthony's colorful flare is fun, too, although I have to admit to my fuddyduddyness: I don't always get it. *Blush*

I think interviews always turn out pretty darn presentable once in print form. As long as it communicates well and promotes the show to the general public and having gone thru this with Anthony before nodding I'm sure the reporter found your interview delightful Rolling on the floor laughing

I got a schedule from Anthony--I see the show is coming up fast, Jan 11th and Jan 12th. How are things looking now--as far as garden readiness? I know this Spring has been pretty rough!

Post a link to the article when it comes out.

Hosing a duck! How colourful is that? Rolling on the floor laughing

Thanks Rick and Lorn - think I'm feeling a bit better for all the encouragement everyone has shared.

It's such a weird season. For me things are much later than usual, but it still looks like the flowering lull will occur around showtime. My speciosum variants won't be in bloom, my few trumpets look too late and there's hardly an oriental. The asiatics will still be in flower, but it will be the tale end of 20-bloom pryamids - not show material with 15 spent flowers!

What I am hoping for is L. leichtinii and Red Velvet, both of which I am growing for the first yime. Sunny Crown too. They seem to have escaped the worst of the botryitis too. *fingers crossed*

I had a very colourful Duck come and talk to me at the Granada car park on Sunday, straight across the road from Berriedale bay, checked out all my pots, then took off, back across the road. 20 mins later , back across to me, then down to the bottle shop for 2 hrs[and inside].The barman led it back across the road ,stopping traffic and throwing bread pieces over the fence of Mona..5 minutes later the duck was back at the bottle shop.. LUCKY Duck.. I went home..Della, what happens -happens.. Ive 2 red velvet here 'maybe'.. I'll have a few trumpets and a few OT's... Cocopa -OA- is too far advanced,, Conca ,SBS, Silk Road maybe .. Anything close to flowering , is up for sale tomorrow [depending on wind factor] Thumbs up

Must be very nice to be able to buy an assortment of lilies at Christmas time!

They would bring easy oohs and ahhs at the dinner table....

That's my daughter and resident flower pixie. She's tickled to see her photo printed and she'll love the compliment too Smiling

Glad they published such a colourful photo. But I swear I said we had over 100 exhibitors, not exhibits!

Oh well. Publicity Hurray!
