Too early for daylilies here. Mine are all asleep. But more and more spring bulbs should start coming up now.

The spring weeds are up: stinging nettle, henbit, bedstraw, chickweed, bur clover, and many others. I think this is earlier than usual for their appearance.

Porkpal, about the same here. I did find a couple daffs peeking out, and a few tulips too.

>> landing on one's tailbone is never good.

Deb, my theory is that landing on my butt is the best way TO land. It's padded, and I don;t keep my brains there DESPITE what co-workers may say.

It's easy to shatter an elbow, sprain a wrist or concuss a brain.

Bt if you just relax when you start to fall, and let you butt take the shortest path down to the ground, you go down slowly to a padded landing.

Staying stiff, or trying to avoid the fall, maximizes your chance of falling like a tree, where the crown gets up to a high speed because it is at the far end of a long lever.

Just look down, and relax your knees. Make it look intentional, like sitting on the floor to meditate.

January snow is about right. We are having another January storm. Supposed to get at least 12 inches. Views out my back door this afternoon.

Thick fog here all day. Temp in the teens. Visibility was down to 100 ft for a while, now up to about 1/4 mile. Bushes, trees, grass and everything including the horse hair stuck to the fences have fuzzy coats of ice crystals. We still have snow on the ground but with bare patches because of sunny days and nothing new falling for at least a week.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

Ice and fog are pretty but not so great for getting around at all. Here the snow is just coming and coming down. Lots on the ground already. Lots.

So I just spent the day inside and have been keeping up with my winter time exercise program. I use my Gazelle Glider and just exercise in front of the TV. I would like to loose about 5 pounds so have been exercising to burn up the calories. Not good for me to be a couch potato all winter just because I can not get out into the garden.

Lots of sunshine here after the snow. We had 12-14 inches. It is about ten outside now and very windy. Feels even colder.

We're up to 3 with bright sun, had freezing rain Monday morning when it was all the way up to 28. Went grocery shopping this morning, snuggling into a warm chair this afternoon.

Nice banner! If I decide that I had better not grow Brassicas in that bed for the fourth year in a row, Zinnias for sure!
