Maurice, I got an answer back from Richard Norris. He said he's not seen that in seeds he's collected from Sharon's Delight. So I'll plant them and see what happens. The vendor told me he'll refund my money if they don't grow so there's nothing to loose by trying.

I have to say though I checked out the link that Frillylily posted and some of those whitish morning glory seeds sure do look a lot like what I have!

Brian, you listed the cross as "supposed to be "Sharon's Delight X Cotton Mouth"

I assume that is Westbourne Cottonmouth?

The AHS 'standard' is that the pod parent is listed first in the parentage. Some hybridizers do not follow that standard in their own listings and sometimes when they register their introductions reverse the order to follow the AHS expected order. But sometimes they forget or do not bother to make the order pod x pollen parent.

As Richard has indicated that Sharon's Delight does not produce white seeds for him you might try asking the seed seller if it was the pod parent or whether WB Cottonmouth was the pod parent.

Thanks Maurice. I had asked that question when I had first contacted them and Westbourne Cottonmouth is the pollen parent. I had noticed from some of the sellers on the auction that they always listed the pollen parent first. As far as I'm aware the seed parent is always listed first regardless of what plants you are working with.

Great news everyone! The two white seeds I had rehydrated have both just sprouted today! I'll get them planted up and soon we'll see what the seedlings are like. I hope they both have normal green foliage and not come up without chlorophyll.

Are they daylilies Brian?
The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.

Well They certainly look like it. I don't know what else grows this same way. Corn is somewhat similar but they certainly are not corn.

Yes give them a chance, you may be surprised. I'm glad I experimented with two of the seeds, now I know that come planting time I can expect the rest to sprout at least. I'm waiting and hoping the foliage is green though and not white!

Well the first of the two seedlings is up and happy to report a nice green shoot. Hurray!
Wish I could say the same for some other seeds received from the LA this year. One cross had three of the 5 seeds sprouted during shipping, potted them and all came up. Two out of three sprouts are white not green so I guess I can't expect much from that cross. Glare
