I sent away for 2 peppermint plants and I received mentha x villosa. Aren't these spearmint, or is this peppermint? I can't find the answer anywhere on the net. Thanks in advance!

Mojito Mint (Mentha x villosa) is the so called "Mojito Mint" and is different than peppermint. You can see peppermint at Peppermint (Mentha x piperita)
