The Snowies are my favorite Rock Garden. There is an amazing diversity of plants, from the alpines up at the top, to the water plants like Parry's Primrose and the Fringed Gentian's that will cover large areas during their bloom time and many flowers in between. We lived in Laramie Wy for 17 years and spent as much time as we could up there in the summer. It was where I fell in love with wild flowers. Who could not fall in love with the beauty there!!!

I used to live in Ft Collins--passed thru Laramie quite a bit-- and then I moved to Minnesocold for way too long
but I didn't have a camera back in the day so many of the greatest rock gardens I have visited are only spectacular memories

walking in to Carlsbad Caverns

Dirt, I got to visit the Carlsbad Caverns about 30 years ago, it was an awesome experience, I loved it!

We were there about the same time as you, Margaret. It was really a great experience.

Ohhh, lovin' all these shots, brings back good memories of our visits to the deserts in southern Calif. a few years back 4-wheelin' with our Jeep.

It's beautiful country! Makes me itch for a road trip, alas, we sold the Jeep so no major rock climbing.

Looks like a fun trip and a good place for wheels (4 or 2, or even the sickos on three) and wildflowers--I'm so jealous of all the blues.

Got any from Yosemite, especially Tuolumne ?? please, oh please it's been on my wish list for sooooo long, to visit there. I haven't completely given up hope, yet. But I am getting more and more resigned...

wow--how scratched up was it when you sold it???

Not too bad, we called it pin striping. No scratches from that shot above, the lift was high enough.
Not any from Yosemite but lots from Tahoe and Eastern Sierras, I could be found with my nose to the ground every time we stopped.

Well, it looks like a lot of fun. Maybe you could get another one?
and I vote for a road trip to Tuolumne anyway and beg for more pictures!
These from the Sierras are fantastic (I have a few too many pictures of me taking pictures too ). I can recognize everybody but that last one--very cool! what is it?
