This morning, on our way to have breakfast at a charming restaurant in Pipe Creek, it was bad! Had to turn the windshield wash on in order to pull out into the driveway. As we drove, we could see some of the brownish-tinged cedar trees, with smoky clouds emerging from them. No obvious wind, just the trees giving off huge amounts of pollen. They said the level of cedar pollen in S.A. was 22,670. Since we live in much more heavily cedared country out here, I wonder how high it was here.

My black car is yellow/gray from the first burst of cedar pollen. I didn't see the weather tonight, but I'm sure it's going to get worse. The cedars behind us haven't popped yet. I'm not usually affected, but the rest of my family sure is. I changed the AC filters this afternoon.

Adding: pollen count was 13,340 today, so not as bad as SA.

Here we get all of the evergreens yellow pollen all over everything in June, and I have allergies, it's horrible, constantly runny nose and watery eyes, lasts a couple of weeks. Thumbs down

People here WISH it just lasted a couple of weeks! For the more sensitive population, it can go on all winter, I hear.

Actually, it doesn't bother me much, but DH, with his chronic respiratory problems, has been sick a lot.

Cedar Pollen coming south! DH is really allergic. My allergies have changed. I hope that I am not allergic but now willing to test and see! "Clartin where are you??" I am not allergic to Pine Pollen but I protect myself when I am outside anyway. I love the Neti Pot for that and a mask while outside.

I have been dying here in Huntsville with the Cedar Pollen. Certainly glad I'm not in SA. It would be much worse if I hadn't been taking my Zyrtec. Wish you folks would keep it over in the hill country and not be so willing to share!! Smiling

People in Austin drive west to the hill country/lake area to escape the cedar pollen!

Even Austin would be an improvement over the San Antonio cedar pollen levels, unfortunately. Tuesday it hit 31,410. I need to change my A/C filters...they must be pretty bad by now.

The pollen count has jumped to 21,400 tonight. It's the second highest count since they've been recording it.

@mcash70 And Margaret is sending some really chilly weather from Canada later this week. It was in the 70s today after being 38 overnight. My peach tree is budding already.

Our next door neighbor emailed me that she felt so bad, she saw her doctor. They did a swab and confirmed she has the flu. She's on Tamiflu and doing better. Neighbors across the street came home from Hawaii sick. Hope they don't have flu...we picked them up from the airport.
