Thanks, Tarev.

Susan - I also bought Euphorbia characias subsp. wulfenii years ago, so it may also be that.

Beautiful indeed! Well done!

I agree Very beautiful, I will look those up when I get a chance. If you have seeds it might be better to start with those. Will the plant come true from seed? It should be close anyway, you have volunteer seedlings?
I love all those plants you have especially the bird of paradise, I wonder if I could grow one here. Wow, those are so nice!

Thanks, Jo Ann and Anne.

Susan - yes, those plants come true from seed - it may also be that that is the only Euphorbia that I have so there is no cross pollination. Send me a t-mail in a couple of months to remind me to collect some seeds. I do have a couple of seedlings that may be small enough to dig up and send to you if Virginia doesn't have strict laws against plants coming in. If that is the case, just t mail me your address and I'll send a few to you to try. Since CA if so careful about getting pests from other states, I have to be careful what I receive. For that reason, I normally trade bulbs since I can wash the soil off relatively easily.

I have the bird of paradise next to the house and it survives the 14 days or so of frost we have here. Not sure if zone 8a is too cold or not.

I think I am having zone envy also. Bird of paradise is for zone 9-11 and that leaves me out.

Dianne, I would love some seeds and / or seedlings. I get plants from California all the time, I do not know about any restrictions. I do not know why California has strict laws.

Dianne, does your Bird of Paradise bloom on old growth or new growth?

Susan - since agriculture is a large part of our economy, they have to be really careful with introduced pests from other places. I work in a university and when we get soils from outside the state, we have to sterilize them before disposing.

Anne - the bird of paradise blooms from both old and new growth, as far as I can tell.

Hope warmer weather is around the corner for those of you still engulfed in snow.

Thalia daffodil - the "white" in my yard Hilarious!

Dianne, I keep forgetting about the agriculture. California is so dry or I have a vision of dry. LOL.

I love, love, love the Thalia daffodil!!

This past week we had three inches of snow and three inches of rain. A winter storm and then a small nor'easter. Crazy weather!! Today it was 65°. Whoa!! Blinking

Thanks Susan. The Helebores are in a bed with my hostas. I don't do much with them, they get very little sun, and bloom every year.

That is where I have mine. I did not know you liked hostas. LOL. Mine get a little morning sun in the winter because the trees are bear. I think I just bought very small plants plus I need to fertilize more.
