Wanted to add this plus several other Lecanopteris to the data base but said Genus is not valid.)

The Plant List shows Lecanopteris sinuosa as a synonym for Myrmecophila sinuosa. They show only Lecanopteris carnosa as an accepted name. All others are either considered synonyms are, they are listed as unresolved.

Ok, submitted it as Myrmecophila sinuosa, but I'd bet 99.99% of anyone looking for it are going to search Lecanopteris, making it harder for them to find.Is there a way to add the synonym ?

Loads of disagreement here it seems. Starting at the end:

IPNI notes genus Myrmecophila originally published in the Orchid Review, 1917.

Tropicos notes Myrmecophila sinuosa (without accepting) but note under Genus: *Myrmecophila Christ ex Nakai. The * means illegitimate, (* = Illegitimate).

The Plant List references Tropicos (for M. sinuosa) as accepted, date supplied 2012-04-18.

Looking elsewhere.
Kew WCSP lists Myrmecophila as a member of family Orchidaceae in agreement with IPNI

IPNI lists Lecanopteris as members of family Polypodiaceae.

We have the COL referencing Kew for Myrmecophila, as Orchids, (Myrmecophila species).
and World Ferns for Lecanopteris as ferns (Polypodiaceae), (Lecanopteris species).

The COL also indicates the latest taxonomic review for Lecanopteris sinuosa as Hassler M., 2013, more current than The Plant List reference.
and Myrmecophila sinuosa as a synonym.

I'd be inclined to go with Myrmecophila as an orchid genera and Lecanopteris as the fern. So Lecanopteris sinuosa as accepted.

This makes synonyms dicey.

What do you all think.
