Hi Beth and welcome! I'm thinking you want to know where to find the different forums for specific plants. Just look to the left of your screen and click on Forums. Once you find the ones you are interested in, go to the forum and click on Watch this forum which will be to the right. Once you are 'watching' a forum you'll see a list of all the ones you subscribe to and any new posts in a particular forum.

Welcome, Beth! Heh, you'll find that many of our threads degenerate into "chat threads." Hilarious! Jump in anywhere!

Another way to find and jump into conversations of interest is to scroll toward the bottom of the home page where you will see recent activity. I have my favorite forums on a 'watch' basis but also check this on occasion to see if something catches my interest. Warm welcome from the Pacific Northwest, hope you enjoy this site.

Welcome, Beth!

You might be interested in the "Edibles and Preserving" forum.

If you click on "Watch This Forum" in the upper-right of the forum home page, you will get a quick link to it on your personal Home Page.

Sometimes (especially at night) a forum thread will become so active that it IS like a chat room.

I see that you both garden and write ... Dave and Trish (the hosts of the website) really appreciate it when people contribute articles (called "Ideas"). Those can be any length from a few sentences to several pages.

When you settle in, ask anyone about how to do that, or click the "Ideas" link on the left-hand menu panel. It might be self-explanatory.

There is also a "Topic of the Month" or "Topic of the Week", and articles related to a current or upcoming topic are especially appreciated. They also often stimulate lots of responses and discussion.
