I have a Red-headed Irishman Mammillaria spinosissima cactus in a terrarium. A light fixture fell on top of my cactus and make a cut on the top of it. It is still in tact no pieces are missing . It just has a cut in it. I would like to know if it can heal or will my cactus just die ??

I hope you can help me with this problem
Thank you.
Ben

I have had Mammillarias receive physical damage like that, and the wound healed over and the plant survived. It retained an unsightly scar, though.

I didn't realize you could grow cactus in a terrarium; I figured there would be too much humidity created in terrarium conditions. I agree with Dave though regarding the Mammilaria; it should heal over and be okay except for a scar.

I'm sure the "terrarium" is open topped.
