Hi fellow water gardeners!

We are excited to be celebrating water gardens as part of our plant weeks on ATP!
As part of our celebration, we are looking for articles/ideas to run for the week that will focus on teaching, encouraging, and inspiring other gardeners who are looking at doing their own water gardens.

Topics are wide open, and I would love to see articles from all of you!! Don't be shy or nervous- the process is very simple, and I'm here to help you in any way possible. Don't stress about formatting or grammar if that's not your thing. I edit all of the articles, and don't mind giving everything a good polish Smiling

If you feel like jumping right in, you can begin by clicking on the "Ideas" tab on the left and following the directions starting at the top of the page. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me directly.

Thanks for all of your help in making these plant weeks a success! I can't wait to see what we have in store for Water Gardens Week!!

Trish -

Sounds like fun - I am glad there is another layer to look at the articles. I can put together something, however I don't have any photos for start up. Is that ok?

Trish - I don't know if you've already got a water nursery or two to offer some plants for the not-a-raffle raffle, but I highly recommend Texas Waterlily. I bet they would not only donate some plants, but could they possibly run a sale for our ATP members for a week or two in March to celebrate Water Gardening Month? That way anyone interested in trying water gardening could be a "winner" with a discount sale for ATP members!

Has anyone offered to write an article about small container water gardening? If not, I can try and put one together quickly for March. I might lack enough photos, though. (Many of my photos are on my old computer and I don't know if I can still access them.)

I would love to see an article by anyone who has created/built an in-ground pond. Big or small.

Becky- A container water garden article would be great! I'll count you in. If you run short on pictures, we often use some from the database for the Ideas. Water Garden week is the third week in March, so you have a bit of time Thumbs up

I'll pass the info along to Dave about Texas Waterlily Thumbs up

Trish, I am working on a small series of ideas for Portable Water Gardens, hopefully you will be able to use some of what I am doing. I have a few pictures in the old lap top and should have them back on Monday. Will send them off as soon as possible. I did send an idea on overwintering pond plants, hope you got that and are able to use it.

Trish - I searched around on my new computer and found enough different photos for my article on container water gardening. I'll start working on the article this week.

I don't think I showed the pictures for the redux on my pond last year (or maybe the year before). Had to have it partially dug up due to sinking stones. That was the largest toughest part. I will look them up and they be of some interest since I also had the surrounds landscaped very differently than it was before. Greatly enhanced its appeal to me.

already HELP! I can type up the article in word, insert pictures ( downsized so they take up fewer kb). Or would it be better to just type the article and put the pictures at the bottom so you can insert them. Not sure how your software imports such things; words and pictures.

If you click on the "Ideas" tab on the left side, and then click on the top of the page where it says "submit an idea", then select the "simple" option, you'll be able to submit your article right there. It works exactly like making a post- easy peasy!
