Was at a local nursery & took some pictures of some orchids. Have no idea how to put them into y'all's database as I don't know the genus/species of these guys, but I'll post what info I got.

Thanks for posting, Toni.
As far as entering into the data base, I don't think that will be useful at all. I am looking at the first one and it is not registered. (not even the pod parent, as far as I can see). So I would count that one out.
I can only read the first part on the Paph tag, but I would bet it is not registered either. You might want to enter the name here and see what comes up. (click on parentage and write in gratrixianum into the first grex line and the second Paph name ( after the x) into the second grex line. enter.)

I see many orchids that only have a general ID and would like to share the pictures but don't know if anyone is interested..........would an orchid sandbox be of any value for those of us who are not growers but appreciate the beauty to post some pictures that are of no value for the data base but are pretty faces? There is a general entry for Phalanopsis.......would a general orchid entry be of value to the casual observer?

Paul, beautiful blooms! Lovey dubby
If you see something pretty, why not simply pop it into the monthly orchid bloom threads! I would always make a note where you saw these orchids in bloom, perhaps the nursery or the grower. But, if you go to a show/ orchid conservatory/ see lots of orchids at a clip, I would always start a new thread just for that event.
We love to see what's blooming out there! Smiling

All of us like to see pretty orchids, name or not. The biggest problem with not having a name is when we like the orchid very much but have no name to hunt for it. That's not a big deal as most of us are over stocked anyway. Please continue to post your pretty orchid pics.
