Darlyn's site is open for 2014 and she has some new beauties and old favorites.

She also sells her own hybridized daylilies, many hostas and they're all worth a look. I can't praise her enough. She sends nice big, healthy plants, and I've had my order in with her since October!

Here's the site: http://greywoodfarm.squarespac...

It's cold, nasty, snowy and horrible outside. Cuddle up with your favorite tea, coffee or hot chocolate, and see how Greywood Farms can tempt you!

Thanks for the reminder. Another grower where it's hard to narrow the choices.

I've always been thrilled with the plants from Greywood!

Maybe it's my age but I just don't want any JI's that make me wait two years for a lonely bloom or two.

That's a big plus!

OT - Looking at JI photos here and on the web I've been struggling with the best way to photograph them. Straight on "Fall" pics don't seem to do justice to most, nor do the straight down shots. I really like photos by Chad Harris but just that one photo doesn't tell the story. I like his obvious truth to color commitment though.

Yes, it is. I truly admire the size of Greywood JI's.

They aren't the easiest to photograph. Time of day, sunlight (or lack of it), and position of the flower are all key to getting something resembling accuracy. I like the overcast days or early morning best though I've had quite a few, taken in full sun, that are nice.

This is Thoroughbred, purchased at Eartheart Gardens on one of Sharon's Open Garden Days. If you haven't been there you just might want to take a nice drive up to Harpswell, on the lovely coast of Maine.
