We have already had and are expecting more hard freezes. The cover on my GH is a mess so the heaters couldn't keep up. Some of the tips on my plants got "frost bite" and are mushy. Should I go ahead and cut them now or wait?? Calling for hard freeze again tonight Angry Sat and Sun "should" get into the low 60s so a good time to cut unless waiting is better. I really don't want to loose them to freeze rot. Got cinnamon today just for them after surgery if that's a good idea. The same has happened to the adeniums so the same question would apply to them....their branches froze all the way to the caudex. Crying Crying

I agree My experience is that the rot will continue and not stop until the entire branch is destroyed. Don't be too conservative when cutting off the rooted part. Be sure you are cutting into healthy tissue.

Ken is right, cut to white tissue, and clean clippers or knife between cuts. Then cinnamon on the cut is a good idea.
Good luck @gingin.

Thank you both. I was thinking the rot would travel, but now I'm sure. My project when it gets a bit warmer...still low 40s and no sun. Grumbling

Good luck, gingin. I hope you are blessed with a foursome of new branches in replacement. This winter had been a challenge for all of us and our plants.
