Yesterday morning I spent some time at Silva Orchids at their annual Open House. There were a lot of gorgeous plants to be had and - we were all very happy to see James Rose again as guest vendor. He made it with all his beautiful plants despite major airline delays due to a good snow-storm this week.
The Open House is ongoing to Sunday.
Some random pics - first some Silva beauties
and there is Jim and his very nice group of goodies:

I sure wish we had a train we could use to commute to orchid shows!
Your pictures are a real delight, Ursula. So many pretty things, I love the little red/white striped pants on that plant in the 2nd picture. Talk about orchids in every color, shape and size!

It looks like I need to follow Rose to a winter show, I have cancelled orders because shipping cost have doubled the cost of the coel. Do you remember if the gold throat coel in 6 is Jannine Banks? I have been trying to find this plant for years.
Beautiful photos, clean and organized nursery. When I go to the east coast I never go above the Mason-Dixon Line, in fact when I stop hearing 'yes mame', I feel like I'm in a foreign country! So there are a few places that I would love to combine in a single trip like J&L and Logees in New England, New Vision and Byrds Botanicals in the MidWest and while I am visiting Chadwick's in Virginia I would like to visit Silvas. Spring road trip is long overdue!
Bert, regarding the Coelogyne - I don't remember for sure, but I think you are correct. I tried to sharpen the tag a bit and it could be Coelogyne Jannine Banks.
I forgot to mention that this particular Coelogyne sat in Silva's cool growing Orchid house together with Masdevallias and such. This one is not Jim Rose's.
