Like message says looking for someone in Tampa area to split an order from Annie's Annuals
http://www.anniesannuals.com/
The shipping for 1-8 items is $28.95. Confused
If we both ordered we can split the shipping.
I'm hoping to find someone close enough we can ship to my home or yours and then
arrange a pickup/meet.
Please contact me via C-mail if your interested.
Thanks

They offer a lot of rare and unusual items. The prices seem fair.
Its just seems the shipping is a little high if you only want 3 or 4 plants,
no breaks on 1-8

I think if it grows good in California,
it won't grow well in the Florida HUMIDITY?

They offer several things that grow here,I've even seen FL native plants.
Yes, some of the their offerings are not for Florida.
There's plenty of plants out there I'd certainly like to try that you just can't find anywhere BUT mail order.
If we all did everything by the book,it'd get boring fast.
Up until a couple of years ago had you ever seen a variegated flax lily(Dianella Tasmanica variegata) in FL.
Older garden books will tell you that plant is not suited for FL climate,go to ANY big box store and you'll discover
they were wrong. Just my 2 cents anyway.

I have the variegated flax and it has survived the hot summer and the freeze with no ill effects.

Dave,
do these look familiar. I got them from you at my last roundup. They too were out all winter with no protection and are blooming their heads off.

Yes Dave, that is the variegated grass looking plant with the bloom spikes just starting to show on them.
The flowers aren't particularly showy,BUT the fruit on them looks way cool. Actually I'm really not 100% sure
if I've seen the variegated one will set fruit, but I don't really see why it wouldn't or couldn't .

Its the ones that are planted under my roebelenii palm,we looked at them on Wednesday.

Here's a pic of the fruit
