That's an amazing Crinum, Hetty. I finally have the first of my amaryllis in bloom. This one was hiding under a potted brug, so I almost missed it. Flashy cannas putting up new leaves, too.

Makes me feel like it really might be spring, but . . . here's the weatherman saying "it's going to feel like winter again" with a low of 47 tomorrow night, and high only in the 60's on Wednesday! One more day to schlep the tender plants into the house. Blinking Hey, next week it's April, surely it will be spring then?

Hetty: That Crinum is gorgeous!!

Elaine: Love those Amaryllis blooms, what a nice surprise to find it peeking out from beneath the Brug! Pretty color on the Canna leaves too!

It's been cloudy and dreary here all day today but at least it's been warm. I really thought Spring had finally arrived for real but with the approaching cold front we're supposed to drop to 45º here in Daytona Beach tomorrow night with a high on Wednesday of only 61º. :tongue_smilie:

Lots of weeds around these parts, Spanish Needles (Bidens alba) has been blooming for a few weeks as has Fleabane (Erigeron pulchellus):

Little Indian Hawthorn (Rhaphiolepis indica) shrubs are in full bloom as well as my Nuns Orchid (Phaius tankervilliae):

That Trailing Jade has a very unique bloom.
Is only 40 here this AM & very windy. We may get to 55 this afternoon.. Hopefully tonite will be the final COLD one of the Spring. My poor tomato plants are tired of sitting in the GH. Promised them they would get planted Sun/Mon.

My Nuns Orchid is full of stalks but nothing opening yet "up north"!!!!!

The Azaleas are absolutely BEAUTIFUL this year. They fill the median in road up a ways & are all shades of pink. Need to remember to get up there & take a pic. Guess the cold winter made them happy.
Blessed are the Quilters for they are the Piecemakers.

I hope so !! Had to move plants back to greenhouse and drag the covers out for some things that I didn't want to move again. Just enough to keep them from getting too chilled, but at least didn't have to worry about frost for the tougher things.

Cool Canna !!

So excited to finally have a blooming Jade Vine at the Naples Botanical Garden. One of the most exotic blooms you'll ever see! Strongylodon macrobotrys is the full botanical name. I've only seen it twice before, at Fairchild and in Hawai'i.
