Has anyone grown Atlantic Giant Pumpkins with much success? I am going to try dome in my hugel swale. I'd welcome any tips. I know you pick off pumpkins to get the strongest one.

Atlantic giant is a very large plant. Runners can go 50 feet or more. You do want to grow them in isolation or bag blooms if you intend to save seed.

Select a single fruit per plant if you are growing for size. I would set out a fairly large reserve of organic material (like a 4X4 filled compost in the center of a hill) and water every single day it does not rain.

Size begets size with Atlantic Giants. Buy proven giant winners seed, if you have any expectation of ever growing a winner yourself.

Thanks. I have seeds from a 805 pound pumpkin. I have heard also to cut the vines off ten feet out from the pumpkin and bury the ends to get more roots and energy back into the pumpkin.

Try it, If the Atlantic curse has really bitten you, you'll be trying two dozen other sillier sounding ideas. This one at least doesn't sound that silly.
