Yes, Saturday 10/23 for sure! 10:00 AM
Citra, FL 32113 (near Ocala)
questions: Cmail to 4paws

Laura say:
Ideas - I can cook a turkey in the dirt for the main food, make a hearty side salad, and provide drinks (purified water, tea, coffee, lemonade). I have plates and silverware for 12 people. I don't like to create trash, so I don't want disposables if it can be avoided, and would recycle as much as possible. I have 5 lawnchairs, 2 lawn lounges, and 2 benches with backs for seating. I have lots of yard for trading and easy access.

I was thinking around Oct. 23. Full moon time, good for transplanting. Start around 10-11, eat around noon, trade and chat...break-up whenever....

I can share worm and black soldier fly information and worm castings/vermicompost as well as plants, perhaps I could invite the water conservation person from the county over to speak about rain barrels or related. I'll likely have barrels available for trade/sale then, too, as I recently acquired 14 of them and will only turn 8 into rain barrels. I've got plans for others, but have plenty to share.

I have .81 acre, not a ranchette by any means, definately not fancy, and my home is "under construction" a little at a time (1982 doublewide) but plenty of room to set up. I think there were about a dozen people who had committed to coming, including some from Jacksonville. I'm about 90 miles from Orlando, Jacksonville, Tampa, Daytona...very central to Central Florida.

We will probably leave around 8am Saturday morning.
The fastest directions from Orlando is to head towards Gainesville up I-75. I might plan to drive that way, but there is also an alternate schenic route that I can take going north from here and cutting through the Ocala National Forest.

ooooo...coleus...50 varieties. Do you have purple? I'd love to have a bit of the Gaura.

I won't have a lot of plants to trade - I hauled a bunch up to Molly for her birthday a couple of weeks ago, before this took shape. Smiling I do have:
-3 Bay seedlings
-2 Haas avocado seedlings
-1 papaya seedling
-3 Orange Bell pepper plants (and maybe a couple of others)
-Maybe Angel Face rose cuttings
-oregano
-chives
-assorted mints for cuttings
-worm poop (limited)
-worms
-vermicompost
-BSFL
-55 gallon blue barrels (I'd deliver someday for gas, if needed)
-1 Earth Box that I don't plan to use
-Acidenthera corms
-Cherokee Bean seeds
-lots of Jiffy pots

Bring you own containers for worms/vermicompost. Bring an 18 gallon rubbermaid tote and some newspaper we can set up your worm bin before you leave.

I had a note from Pheadra, aka GaGardener3,(I think). That she and her DH, Collier will come on their way home from seeing the son in S Fl.
They had a tornado wipe out their Green House last spring.
I am still counting on bringing Jeremy.

Well, Bad News;
Well, Jeremy and I and Pheadra and Collier will not be there..
Jeremy canceled with me as I ask him to be ready at 7AM. I know he is always late and so that if I said 7 we might get away by 8 something.
I am busy getting into a new venture so I really couldn't afford to come anyway.
Please everyone, have a good time.
I know this is a bummer.

Not to early before Thanksgiving to feast on Turkey. If not many members come, we could put up signs around the corner and along the highway, "Plant Sale Today" If the party poops, we can drive-up to the Crystal River and canoe upstream to Silver Springs.

It shouldn't poop. I think there are still going to be 10 of us.

I seem to do a turkey almost every full moon. I share it with my neighbor and others, then make soup from the carcass. Last month it was for Molly's birthday.
