I live in the SW part of Florida Everglades in the land where time stands still. You HAVE to love nature to live here!

Hi Jan & Hetty! I'm just getting back into gardening (no thanks to that cold snap).
We are striving more this year into "self-sustainability", so we're trying to grow "pretty" things to eat! I recently acquired a yerba buena . It looks, smells and tastes like a mint but much larger. It is said to have good medicinal values also. It's also very pretty!
Oops! I forgot I'm in the Introductory area!

Geeze, if there was a way to screw up making a peanut
butter and jelly sandwich, leave it to me.
This is my post, deep from my heart that I got stupid and put in "pets".

My new made up word is bull honkey.

Being that I have a very bad memory, I am going to write it down and tape it on the wall.
It is a conglomeration of everything not acceptable, now in the " rule book of Carol".
I flunked a mammogram AGAIN. Kinda sorta. The tech was wincing and making squinty faces and this is not my first rodeo.
I am not afraid- just that Ohhhhh Mannnnnnn here we go again! The tests hurt but not the breast cancer that I had removed previously. I can't complain- they gave me 6 years and I am on numero 7 AND I laugh at death. Or maybe that giggle is escaping gas- who cares- it is still a giggle. I now have a grandson that I love dearly. Before I was worried
about putting my family thru through the "Fight" but now with that little man, my grandson, "Mr. Wonderful", I plan to fight and live forever! Yippee for me!

Shoot, I already lost my "bull honkey" paper! When going thru a terrifying ordeal, clinging to a dumb word makes a good day. Cancer isn't painful- it's the treatment. Cancer doesn't hurt but it's terrifying.

This is my hopeful request--PLEASE PRAY FOR ME!!!! You wonderful people are all I have.

Carol,
There are places that offer free mammo screening. Just be sure not to tell them if you are having any current problems or they will make you see your doctor.

Oh, I would love to know where I can go! It would give me so much peace of mind. Is there a place you think that I can find out what all is available in SW Florida?
Who's Mr Wonderful? My hubby? I found a pic!

I am so sorry to have missed you on the west coast, Hetty. I am much happier back in Fort Lauderdale near my family tho. I hope to get back on track socially but I had never stopped gardening. I hope to get crazy with the plumeria- I have a pool which takes up a good part of the yard so the frangipanis are a perfect "eye-catcher".

I have to thank you, Jan. You actually saved my life. I found a place for mammo's and I ended up with a double mastectomy but am now cancer-free. Yipppppeeee for me! Hurray!
