Tom found quite a few with that Cold Fusion look and pattern to it but my question is can the pattern be spread to other colors most of what I saw was similar colored and then can we add different colored beards and more ruffles Smiling to it. I can't wait to play with it and see what comes from that one.I crossed it with Serena Louisa hoping to add a little more height and ruffles to it and came away with a lot of seeds excited to see what comes from that cross. The Sutton Iris have been awesome the past few years looking forward to see there new intro's this year.

Thank You all for your comments on these it's fun to look at something different and help's get us all a little closer to spring. Here is the next set for today Enjoy enablers Anonymous Group Rolling on the floor laughing

Well, Serena Louisa should help bring some ruffles for sure! I tried using Cold fusion, but didn't get any pods to set. I didn't use it as a pollen parent though, maybe I can try that this summer if it ever gets here. I especially like the first three on the left, also I like the colors of 6R, but the form needs to be imporved some. I also like the last one on the left. 6L is like an improvement on Capatonic, the same color, better ruffles and wider falls. Keep the pictures coming, it's 0 out this morning, lol. The good news is the horse have finally started to drop a little hair, it's 6 weeks later then ususal, so we need to start shooting that darn ground hog Angry Rolling on the floor laughing

Tom more snow and freezing rain here today Good news with your horse maybe spring is on the way our forecast looks great next week but it seems to change everyday. I am starting to believe they are absolutely clueless about what its gonna do outside until it's happening.

Lucy I'm glad there is a few TB's that caught your eye, I got there to late in the season for the little ones have just a few to share.

Eye candy!!! nodding

I really like 1R -- I'm kinda bored with the purple on white (these are plicatas, right? I forget the designations) -- and love the look of the burgundy on white.

2R is wonderful -- lookit all the blooms!! Hurray!

Not loving #3 -- not sure why..............I guess the color combination just doesn't flip my switch.

I do love 5R -- I love the purple tucked in at the base of the standard. Lovey dubby

6L and 6R -- Thumbs up Love the brilliance of the color on 6R. Bet you could spot that one a block away!

8L reminds me too much of Vibrations. 8R is pretty in a quiet way.

Patty, I'm not sure if I should be judging these as I'm not a qualified judge, but I know what I like. Color alone does not make an iris in my opinion. Although I love the color of 6R, it's the shape that I am concerned about. Although I'll say right from the start that it could be that it just hasn't finished opening yet, and would relax into a nicer shaped iris, but I don't have that information, so have to go on what I see. Look at the nice round shape of the standards on 2L in the group before this last one. Nice broad falls with some ruffles. Now look at 6R in that same group, and notice how the standards are almost straight up. and the falls are a bit more narrow at the base then farther down. It could also be it's maiden year of bloom, and maybe next years bloom will be better. Who knows. Maybe someone who really is an iris judge should comment, as I might be all wet! *Blush*

Well I'll be. Given that I tend to be turned off by both plicatas and ruffles, I can't figure out why 1R is so appealing to me. But wow. I love everything about that. Those sort of leopard-spotted hafts just seal the deal. I hope that haft markings are enough in fashion right now that they won't doom this one.
